Lead family engagement, parent recruitment, and ongoing support for Elkanna's community-based health programmes.
About this role
We are looking for a Family Engagement Coordinator who can build trusting, non-judgemental relationships with parents and guardians.
The role supports family recruitment, retention, parent communications, and warm handoffs between schools, GPs, and our programme team.
Key responsibilities
- Recruit and onboard families into early intervention and healthy lifestyle programmes.
- Provide warm, plain-language communication with parents before, during, and after programmes.
- Liaise with schools, family resource centres, GPs, and public health nurses to coordinate referrals.
- Maintain attendance, engagement, and outcome records aligned with HSE reporting.
- Champion family voice in programme design, delivery, and continuous improvement.
What we're looking for
- Qualification in Social Care, Community Development, Family Support, Health Promotion, Education, or a related field.
- Experience in family-facing, community, or referral-based work.
- Excellent interpersonal communication and culturally sensitive practice.
- Knowledge of Irish child protection, Children First, and data protection requirements.
- Eligibility to work in Ireland with Garda vetting clearance.
Desirable experience
- Experience working in border counties or rural communities.
- Familiarity with HSE referral pathways or Tusla Education Support Services.
- Training in motivational interviewing, family therapy, or trauma-informed practice.
