CORU Registered Social Worker, Child and Family Support

About this role
We are looking for Social Workers who bring strong assessment skills, safeguarding judgement, and a practical commitment to child-centred care.
The role supports care planning, inter-agency communication, family engagement, risk review, and professional guidance across Elkanna services.
Key responsibilities
- Contribute to assessments, placement planning, care reviews, and safeguarding responses.
- Support children, families, and care teams through clear communication and evidence-informed recommendations.
- Liaise with Tusla, HSE teams, education providers, clinicians, and other professional networks.
- Maintain high-quality case records, reports, chronologies, and professional documentation.
- Advise colleagues on child protection, welfare, rights, risk, and statutory responsibilities.
What we're looking for
- CORU registration as a Social Worker, or clear eligibility for registration.
- Recognised Social Work qualification.
- Experience in child and family services, residential care, child protection, disability, mental health, or related practice.
- Strong report writing, case formulation, risk assessment, and professional judgement.
- Knowledge of Irish child protection, safeguarding, and relevant regulatory frameworks.
Desirable experience
- Experience working with children in care or children with complex support needs.
- Training in trauma-informed practice, attachment, Signs of Safety, or therapeutic interventions.
- Experience contributing to service development or quality improvement.
